In this regard, a portion of the Society’s Share Capital is owned collectively, intended to further the long-term purposes for which the Society exists. The Society pays a competitive rate of return on Share Capital, in terms of dividends and compensates employees fairly according to the standards of the Society in which they exist. Members of the Society allocate surpluses for any or all the following:
a. Developing the business of the society
b. Benefiting members in proportion to their involvement, and
c. Encouraging the further development of the Co-operative movement.
Every year, based on the financial performance of the Society, the Annual General Meeting proposes a rate of dividends on share capital. This dividend is distributed to members in proportion to their share capital holdings as at the end of the respective financial year.
